Eileen Russell
Eileen Meyer Russell has been teaching Low Brass at Del Mar College in Corpus Christi, TX since 1995. She holds degrees in Performance (Bachelor of Music, 1987) and Brass Pedagogy (Doctor of Music, 1996) from Indiana University, where she studied with M. Dee Stewart, and a degree in Performance from the University of Northern Iowa (Master of Music, 1989) where she studied with Jon Hansen. Russell has organized clinics and master classes for junior high, high school and college age trombonists since 1986.
Eileen has presented guest solo recitals throughout the Midwestern and Southwestern United States in addition to participating in ensembles at International Trombone Festivals in Germany, Cleveland, Minneapolis, Las Vegas, and Boulder. She has been the featured soloist with the Indiana University Department of Band concerts on the I.U. campus and in Indianapolis, IN, and in appearances with various university and community wind ensembles. Eileen is active as both a trombone and euphonium performer. She is a member of the International Trombone Association, the International Tuba and Euphonium Association, and the Texas Music Educator’s Association. (Conn)
