Ithaca College
Ithaca College, founded as a music conservatory in 1892 by violinist
Grant Egbert, has a rich history and continuing commitment to excellence
in music education and performance. Today Ithaca College is home to over
5000 undergraduate students in virtually all disciplines within the five
major Schools on campus. With approximately 450 undergraduate and 50 -
60 graduate students, as well as 64 fulltime faculty members, the School
of Music is considered by many to be one of the finest undergraduate
music schools in the country. In 1999, a 16.5 million-dollar addition to
the existing music building was completed. This expanded the useable
space to over 112, 000 square feet. There are now three performance
venues within the facility ranging in seating capacity from 150 to 735.
