Dimensions in Blue
USAF Band of the West

Dimensions in Blue Jazz Ensemble from the United States Air Force Band of the West generates a unique excitement while sharing America's only original art form – Jazz. Dimensions in Blue musicians perform an average of 100 performances annually, entertaining over 500,000 people, and logging over 20,000 miles of travel each year.
This group performs a wide variety of music ranging from the classics of Duke Ellington, Count Basie, and Woody Herman, to the more contemporary sounds of Rob McConnell, Bob Mintzer, and Frank Mantooth. The band can also recreate the look & sound of the 1940s Glenn Miller Army Air Corps Jazz Band. From the opening notes of "In The Mood" to authentic "Pinks and Greens" uniforms, Dimensions in Blue is a faithful reproduction of the World War II era that can transport an audience back to a time when big bands were the rage. In addition, this organization has performed with some of the biggest names in the music business including Lou Rawls, Dizzy Gillespie, Rich Matteson, Mike Vax, Bobby Shew, Ed Shaughnessey, Bill Watrous, Marvin Stamm, Louie Bellson, and Bob Hope.
Dimensions in Blue performs in high schools, colleges, and media-sponsored tours throughout Texas, Arizona, New Mexico and Louisiana. They have been featured performers at the Texas Jazz Festival, the Texas Bandmasters Association Convention, the International Association of Jazz Educators Convention, the Corpus Christi Jazz Festival, the Galveston Jazz Festival, and San Antonio's "Fiesta In Blue" activities.
