LAS VEGAS! This is the place to be to enjoy life in general – and the company of fellow trombonists in particular – from Thursday, May 31 to Saturday, June 2, 2007.
ITF 2007 North America will offer a true workshop experience for
trombonists at all levels – from beginners to the most experienced
player. Participation and enjoyment are
the key words here. Warming up together, playing in a group, working
on the music you like most, coached by leading players and teachers
from around the world. Tom Brantley, Chris Houlding, Alex Iles, Niels
Ole Bo Johansen, Carl Lenthe, and Bill Reichenbach are a few of the
performers/teachers who have accepted our invitation to play and
work with our participants. Special guests in Las Vegas include
the world famous Spanish Brass Luur Metalls, who will perform an
exciting evening concert.
Unique Opportunities
Learn what all teachers need to know, exchange ideas, listen to promising young players play the finals of all competitions, and (if you wish) you can even take the stage yourself to become an American Trombone Idol. If you are a serious player you can receive a serious advice from top level artists and educators that will certainly help you in your career. If you simply like to entertain your fellow trombonists you are also welcome to do so. There are many ways to enjoy the trombone. Please share with us how YOU enjoy this the most. A beginner playing a simple tune is as welcome as the aspiring student hoping to impress. Or maybe you can show what one can do with a trombone in an unexpected way? The rules for American Trombone Idol are simple: one person with trombone. Two full minutes playing time. No groups. No age limit. Sign up in person in Las Vegas. First come, first serve.
Register Today!
To avoid any disappointments we ask every participant to indicate at registration what level and type of group you wish to be assigned. We will have groups available for beginner, intermediate and advanced players.
The goal is to have every player in a group that plays the repertoire on a level he/she feels most comfortable with. Do not be too modest and present yourself as an intermediate player without much experience if you can play the highest parts in rather difficult stuff, but also do only indicate you wish to play those high or very low parts if you are absolutely certain you can do it on the level you indicate. We do need players of ALL levels. Not just top players and beginners. If you are in any doubt please feel free to contact us.
The repertoire and coaches for the groups will be determined once all the registration forms have been received and processed.
NOTE: Registration is limited to the first 300 applicants. So if you wish to participate in this wonderful event please do not wait and register online TODAY!
