Here’s how YOU can be a part of the biggest trombone gathering in the world!
THE YOUTH WORKSHOP
Students (ages 12-17) are invited to attend and perform at the ITF as a part of our Youth Workshop. Director Christopher Bill, who is well-known around the world for his innovative online presence, leads our youth program. Together with Festival artists and Youth Workshop Faculty, Bill creates a unique and nurturing learning environment for developing trombonists. Students attend Festival events as as group, work together in rehearsals, benefit from exclusive master class experiences, and perform on a Saturday concert (with a few surprise guests)! The ITF Youth Workshop is a great place to make new friends, attend amazing concerts, learn, and just basically geek out over all things trombone!
THE ITF YOUTH WORKSHOP IS OPEN TO ALL STUDENT TROMBONISTS, AGES 12-17.
Youth Workshop attendees have on-campus housing and commuter options. Those choosing to stay on campus will be monitored by camp counselors for the duration of the Workshop schedule, and should plan to stay on campus from Tuesday night to Saturday night (Sunday departures also available). Commuters should be dropped off by a parent or guardian each morning, and picked up each evening.
Parents, family, and friends are invited to attend the Saturday concert, or any (or all) of the Festival events!

Christopher Bill of classicaltrombone.com, Director of the ITF Youth Workshop.
TROMBONE PERFORMERS AND EDUCATORS
Trombone professionals can be a part of the Festival as a regular attendee (see below), or may choose to apply as a Presenter. For more information on presenting at the ITF, please visit our “APPLY” page, here: https://trombonefestival.net/2018/08/29/apply/.
ATTENDING THE ITF: STUDENTS (age 18+) & ADULTS
ITF attendees can purchase one-day, two-day, three-day, or full Festival registration. Attendees can attend all regular Festival events, including master classes, lectures, exhibits, concerts, and poster sessions. In addition, the ITF program includes daily warm-up sessions, and trombone choir rehearsals, so you should bring your horn!

See you in Muncie!
I would like to take part with my 10 SA trombonist…..
Hi Isaac: Are you looking to have a student group perfrm at the Festival?
When are adults going to be able to sign up for dorm rules? I have asked before and receive no reply..
Thanks – LF
Hi William – I am sorry you have had trouble reaching us. We’ve been having some issues with our email servers, so it’s possible that your message did not get through the first time. You can register for dorms and the Festival by using the link on this page. If you have any further issues or questions, please feel free to email me at kmarston@trombonefestival.net, or use the contact form on this site. Thanks!
Is there a hotel with festival rates? What would be close? Do you get a parking visitor pass if you stay in a hotel?
Hi Robert – Yes, we have arrangements with several hotels. Please visit this page for more information: https://trombonefestival.net/2018/12/05/travel-information/
I spoke with a gentleman when I called and the info he gave me doesn’t align with what I’m trying to register for.
My son and I can only come one day. He is 14/upcoming sophomore in HS.
Whomever I talked to said my son could sign up for just one day. However, when I went to try it says he has to be 18.
Can you help me figure out how to make a nice trip out of one day?
Thank you!
Hi Dayle – Please email me at kmarston@trombonefestival.net, for assistance.
Hello, are parents allowed to come to the concerts, just not the workshops etc.? Or just pay like a ticket price at the concert/event that day ? The wording above seems vague on this point, just confirming please, thanks !
Hi Dawn –
Friends and family can attend the youth workshop concert on Saturday for free. If you would like to attend more festival events, you can purchase a non-trombonist registration ($115), which is greatly reduced, as compared to regular festival registration. This will get you into all Festival events. Or, if you prefer, single event tickets are $10. Hope that helps!
Please email me a contact number. My son wants to come to the festival.
Hi Theodocia – Please email me at kmarston@trombonefestival.net, and I’d be happy to help.
