Nashville 2021: 50th Anniversary

The ITF Board is excited to announce that the 2021 Festival will take place in Nashville, Tennessee!

We are looking forward to working with our 2021 Host, Jeremy Wilson, Associate Professor of Trombone at the Blair School of Music, Vanderbilt University!  2021 is the 50th Anniversary of the ITF (formerly the ITW), and we can’t wait to celebrate this landmark year in the same place where it all began.

From 1971-1979, the ITW was held at the George Peabody College for Teachers, which later merged with Vanderbilt University.  The Festival continued in Nashville, moving to Belmont College from 1980-1983, and returning there from 1985-1988.  Nashville is the birthplace of our beloved event!  Come celebrate 50 years of “all things trombone” with us in 2021!

The 2021 Festival will feature a Youth Workshop and Composers Workshop, as well as everything you know and love about the ITF: world class artists, cutting-edge presenters, outstanding student ensembles, university faculty, and the biggest trombone exhibit hall in the world.
