Herbert (Sonny) Ausman

A member of the Los Angeles Philharmonic's trombone section since 1971, Herbert (Sonny) Ausman was born in Alabama and graduated from the Eastman School of Music, where he studied with Emory Remington. In addition to his activities as a professional musician, Ausman is also a highly regarded recording engineer. He has collaborated with many of his Philharmonic colleagues, as well as musicians from other major symphony orchestras, on solo and ensemble recordings, winning critical praise for his technical achievements. Ausman is happily married to Erica and has two lovely daughters, Amanda and Emma.
