Youth Workshop

An Exclusive Experience for Young Trombonists:

Welcome to the Youth Workshop, a specially curated program designed for young trombonists aged 12-17. Our program is fully chaperoned and features a carefully crafted schedule to ensure an enriching and enjoyable educational experience.

Program Highlights:

  • Chaperoned Experience: Students will be under the care of dedicated counselors throughout the four-day festival.

  • Curated Schedule: A carefully planned itinerary to keep young trombonists engaged and immersed in the experience.

  • Ensemble Rehearsals: Participants will be placed in ensembles based on their ability levels, rehearsing throughout the week.

  • Final Concert: Join us on Saturday morning for a special concert featuring Youth Workshop ensembles and faculty. Parents are invited to attend this free performance.

Accommodation Options:

  • Dorm Stay: Students have the option to stay in the dorms (purchased separately) with the youth group and counselors.  Note: dorm availability is limited; please purchase early.  Dorm information and purchase options will be posted on the ITF website when available.

  • Commute: Alternatively, students can commute to campus each day.

Camp schedule: A detailed schedule will be posted prior to the festival (see the 2023 schedule below, as an example). For travel planning purposes, out-of-town students staying in the dorms should plan to arrive on campus late afternoon/evening on Tues, May 28, and will stay with the group until after the concert on Saturday, June 1. Commuters can optionally meet up with the group on Tuesday evening but should plan to arrive for the start of activities on the morning of Wednesday, May 29, andt to be on campus from 8am-9pm daily.

Partial attendance is not allowed - all workshop campers must attend the full schedule, Wed-Sat.
