2019 Henry Romersa Travel Fund

Henry Romersa is the funder of the National Trombone Workshop, which he orgnized for the first time in Nashville, Tennessee, in the summer of 1971. The event eventually evolved into the International Trombone Workshop, and traveled the world, taking place at venues in Germany, Austria, The Netherlands, Finland, and locations all across the US. Henry’s vision for a world-renown, annual trombone event continues to be realized today, as the International Trombone Festival.

The Henry Romersa Fund provides travel support to an educator or student, wishing to attend the ITF.

Eligibility: Any educator or student wishing to attend the ITF may apply; Priority is given to educators

Application deadline: April 1, 2019

Materials needed for application:
-Personal Statement, outlining financial need, your interest in attending the ITF, what you hope to gain from the experience, and any other pertinent information you would like the committee to consider
-Two letters of recommendation (from teachers, if you are a student, or from students, if you are a teacher)
-Optional: Resume and publicty photo

The winning applicant will receive:
-Up to $600 in travel reimbursement to attend the ITF at Ball State University, July 10-13, 2019
-Ground transportation (shuttle) from airport (Indianapolis only)
-Accomodations in Ball State University dorms (meals included)
-Full Festival registration for the 2019 ITF

-Travel dates may be extended up to 2 days before and 1 day after Festival
-Award will reimburse actual travel costs, either for airfare, or mileage, but not both
-Award will not reimburse for a rental car
